Whether you dream of living where Cochise, Geronimo and the Chiricahua Apache roamed or a home on the range with room for horses of your own... Cochise County is the perfect place to be.
The Dragoon Mountains are located in the center of the county and form a rugged backbone of pinkish boulders strewn with alligator juniper, pinion pine and oak trees. Rolling grassland fills the area between the hills and arroyos. This area is lush with vegetation and rich in wildlife.
Living here in the foothills of the Dragoon Mountains at 5,000 feet elevation you can enjoy the unspoiled natural beauty of the high desert with its abundant sunshine, moderate year-round climate and clean air.
The howl of the coyote and the quail calling are music amidst the peace and quiet. You fall in love with the land over and over again as you watch the surrounding mountains changing color from blue to purple to red with each sunset and sunrise.
This area is rich in history and artifacts.
The old Butterfield Stage Stop lies at the north end of the Dragoons and Tombstone, the "town too tough to die,"is only 13 miles away. Hidden away are Indian art sites, metates formed in slabs of limestone for grinding mesquite beans and oak acorns, as well as shards of pottery from times long past.
Relics of the pioneer days are frequently discovered... blue glass bottles, an old plow head, handmade ice tongs, enamel ware pots, railroad tie date nails and much more.
Nearby you can enjoy outstanding hiking and world class birding in the Chiricahua and Huachuca mountains which are Arizona's famous "sky islands." Walk the board sidewalks of historic Tombstone where Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday made their mark in history. Old Mexico and New Mexico are both just a short distance away.
You can step back into time and live at a slower pace yet stay connected to the modern world. This location makes for convenient access to Sierra Vista, the main commercial, cultural and recreational center of the county, to Bisbee, a picturesque, mountain-side mining town turned artist community, as well as to Tucson, a major metropolitan area just an hour and a half away.
We look forward to showing you this wonderful county and the spectacular land we are offering. This is your chance to escape the hub-bub of the city and feel the breeze in your hair.
Let us know when you can come by for a visit.
